Blending Timeless Charm with Modern Elegance

When we first stepped into this kitchen, we knew it had so much potential — a spacious layout, gorgeous cherry cabinetry, and incredible natural light. The bones of the space were fantastic, but there was room to elevate it to something truly exceptional. Our goal was to preserve the best parts while giving the entire kitchen a fresh, modern makeover. We wanted to blend the warmth and character of the existing cherry wood with updated elements that would enhance functionality and bring a new energy to the space.

Preserving the Heart of the Kitchen: Cherry Cabinetry

The cherry cabinetry was a standout feature of this mountain kitchen. Its rich, warm tones added a timeless charm and character that couldn’t be ignored. Instead of replacing it, we decided to preserve most of the perimeter cabinetry and top it with new, luxurious quartz countertops. To complete the look, we installed modern crown moulding that harmonized with the new cabinetry.

Introducing Maple for a Fresh Look

To create a new focal point and increase functionality, we designed a much larger, custom maple island and added a state-of-the-art refrigeration wall. The lustrous, warm gray-green tones of the maple introduced a new complementary color that pairs with the cherry cabinetry perfectly. This thoughtful addition instantly transformed the space, creating more prep area and a stunning centerpiece. Incorporating smart design elements, we added a new maple coffee cabinet nestled within the cherry cabinetry. This was a unique way to blend the two woods, creating a harmonious balance of textures and tones. The cabinetry's thoughtful design is not only aesthetically pleasing but functional, maximizing storage space and streamlining the workflow.

Quartzite Island: A Showstopper

The true highlight of this renovation is the quartzite island. With its rich, layered colors that echo the tones of the kitchen and the adjacent living room, this island feels like it was custom-made for the home. Not only is it a visual masterpiece, but it also serves as the ultimate entertaining hub, becoming the heart of the kitchen and a gathering spot for family and friends.
